10/52

A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2013.

This week has been rough. Everly was super clingy, then she came down with a fever and nasty cold. Plus, my anxiety reared its ugly head out of nowhere, then my insomnia hit, so basically I'm just plain ol' tired. I didn't pick up the camera once, nor my iPhone, but I had nothing of interest to photograph anyway as we have been cooped up in the house most of the week.

Above are some cute captures from my husband's phone of Everly trying on a very special gift from the lovely Greer at Typically Red - a beautiful bumpy bonnet in soft purple wool. (I entered a giveaway and was one of the very lucky winners!) Everly's absolute delight in modelling it for us - despite having a fever, watery eyes and runny nose - is true testament to how lovely this little hat is! I'm sure Everly will not take it off all Winter. Please do pop over to Greer's shop and order your little ones a bonnet for the cooler weather. (Meanwhile, we are having another heatwave in Adelaide and I'm wondering where Autumn is?!)

There will be no These Days post this week, which I'm sure you can understand. I've also decided to take a little blog break for a couple of weeks to recharge. I will still be taking photos when I feel the urge, but my 11/52 and 12/52 portraits will be a little late.

I look forward to checking all my favourite blogs in a fortnight and seeing what you've all been up to! x

My favourite portrait from last week was this beautiful image of the oh-so-tiny baby brother and the big sister over at Megpie, a new (to me) blog I recently discovered.

  2. I hope Everly's feeling better soon and things settle for you :) Don't you just love Greer's bonnets! I have to admit I've bought Sunny two and can't wait for the cooler weather so she can wear them... By the looks of it Everly is loving her new little hat too!

  4. Oh honey. Anxiety and insomnia are such nasty things. I am all too familiar with them both and despise their existence. Sending peace and love. A blog break and some time to be calm and refocus will do you wonders. Hope your beautiful girl kicks those sniffles. Xx Ashley

  12. Go gently hon. I'm feeling you on the anxiety stakes. Awful thing that it is, and for seemingly no apparent reason it hits me. I had my first reiki session last week, to see if that would help. What an experience. Things got brought up that i thought I'd dealt with, but I must say I have felt a lot more peaceful and at ease this week.
Thinking of you, and hope you are healing and resting well xo
