We have a little Saturday morning ritual, this family of mine. After scrambled eggs at home, we head out for morning tea to Red Door Bakery in nearby Croydon for takeaway coffee and delicious pastries (Mark, an almond croissant; Everly, a plain croissant; and me, always a fruit danish). We walk around the corner to the playground where Everly is usually content to play by herself on the equipment for a few minutes, giving Mark and I precious relaxing time to sit back on the bench and sip our coffees. Then we take it in turns helping Everly up the rock wall and cheering her on down the slide, until she's had enough and it's time to go home. It's such a lovely, relaxed start to our weekend. I love Saturdays!
*More pics of Red Door treats in an old post here (mmm... pies and crème brûlée tarts!) It was one of our weekend regulars, even before Everly came into our lives. We ate there so often I wrote a little story for Adelaide's Five Thousand magazine.

I love the look of that bakery! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is our favourite bakery in Adelaide! It reminds me a little of Bourke Street Bakery in Sydney, if you know of it? Delicious food!
DeleteSounds perfect to me Jess...can my family join you? Only joking, but we love the RDB too. When I was in Adelaide last time I had a very quick visit to the new store on King William Road. It has a lovely vibe too, naturally! Happy Sunday arvo to you :)
ReplyDeleteYou can join us any time, Jane! ;) (We are there often enough! Haha!) We have been to the KW Road a few times (see, we are addicts!) - I love it there, too. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteSo lovely these photos, the place look so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words, and thanks for stopping by :)
Deletewhat a lovely way to start the weekend. i might have to try out red door next time i'm in adelaide. being a former florist i am loving that first photo with the flower arrangement, any idea which florist did them?
ReplyDeleteYou've captured this place so beautifully... I can almost here the hustle bustle of the street outside and the soft chatter while you're eating your treats. I would be up at a cafe every day if I could, it's one of my favorite places to go and think in! (And of course to indulge in coffee and pastries!) ;) x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots... especially love that last one! x
